A team of
eight Hashers from Harvel successfully tackled the annual winter ToughGuy
challenge in Wolverhampton. The “HarvelH3.org” team had to run through
eight ‘country’ miles of grueling terrain, climbing over obstacles,
scrambling through bogs and ditches to reach the 'Killing Fields' assault
course.
Once on the Killing Fields thirty-foot high assault walls, electric fences
and freezing cold water, confronted the team.
Before they could complete the
course the team had to overcome all obstacles and traverse rope crossings
commando style and swim and dive through the muddy water.
IronMan said,
“The shear pain after emerging from the underwater tunnel was one of the
worst experiences of my life. A lot of people were being taken off the field
with hypothermia as I ran to the barbed wire crawl”. The Harvel team
however all got to the finish safely.
The only lady ToughGuy on the team, White Wino, said, “It’s not the winning that's
important on this course, it's surviving that matters!”
