Harvel House Farm Shop

The shop opened in October 2008  when they have started selling their own meat and game, and also producing pies, ready meals, puddings and cakes.  It now opens on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 7 pm.

The Jones family have farmed in Harvel since moving up from Sussex in 1976. Harvel House is a traditional North Downs Farm with a herd of Sussex cattle and homebred sheep grazing the pasture. They are also fed homegrown cereals and beans while the sheep fold on turnips in the winter. Call it old-fashioned, but that is where the flavour is! The pigs are mainly Saddlebacks which, although fatter, again carry more flavour.

The shop is in a 200 year old heavy horse stable which has been converted to provide modern facilities while retaining the original features in the customer area. The cooking will all be done in the shop by Joanne and Louise in full view, while Brian Rushbrook will take charge of the Butchery. Brian has 50 years experience and can cut to any requirement, with sausages and mutton a particular speciality.

Stephen, Joanne, Trevor, Jos, Brian, Louise, Nesta,  Caleb and Lin all look forward to welcoming you to the shop.
