A disappointing turnout for the Final Round of the Handicap, 4 and a dog and the dog won !! A bit of a chilly day but fortunately the rain nearly held off, just a light sprinkling early on then it brightened up.

At times the course resembled a Hash with lots of water and muck to run through. Brannie was first home to claim his first win this season and lift himself to 8th in the league table, Duracell nearly caught up but not quite, but a PB and second place meant a tie overall with Duck, who failed to live up to her name by not coming out in the wet.

Doggy did all that was necessary by jogging around the course in a respectable time to claim the Handicap Winners mantle, as his two nearest rivals didn't appear he could have stayed in bed, but that's not the Doggy way (apparently). So congratulations to Doggy on a well and hard earned win.  As Ironman came 5th overall, there is be trophies for places 1 - 5 !

August 2009 Results

Only 5 runners turned out on a warm morning (poor show). Usual familiar faces plus Gadge's return to running a handicap for the first time this year, shortly followed by Gadge's return to injury. Hopefully injuries, holidays, and cooler weather will permit more runners for Rounds 5 and 6 in October and December.

June 2009 Result

A good race, with everyone getting PBs apart from Duracell & Landlord, a touch of post NDR I think. Duck stormed home first with a massive PB of nearly three and a half minutes, breaking the 50 minute barrier in the process. The next 6 all came in within two and a half mins. Bit of a break then till the last pair came home. Think Branston needs a new running partner. Mrs Dirty still leading overall, but its getting close.  Maybe trophies for the top 5 this year ... and wooden spoon for Popeye based on current standings!
